Accident Benefit Rider

Pays a benefit equal to the certificate face amount if death results directly from an accidental injury within 180 days of that injury, independent of other causes, and prior to insured’s 70th birthday (all combined accidental death coverage may not exceed $250,000).

Disability Waiver Of Premium

Waives all certificate and rider premiums for an insured employee who becomes totally disabled before age 65 and remains disabled for at least six months.

Children's Benefit Rider

Provides level term life insurance for dependents up to age 26, as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. The benefit amount equals 10% of the employee’s coverage.

Spouse Term Rider

Provides level-benefit term life insurance on the insured for a 10-year or 20-year period, with level, guaranteed premiums. The benefit amount is equal to 30 percent of the employee’s benefit amount.

Conversion Option

All or a portion of the face amount—from $10,000 up to the full amount—may be converted to a whole life policy without evidence of insurability, as long as the conversion is completed within 60 days before the term expiration date. Premiums for the new policy will be determined by the insured’s age and insurance company rates in effect on the policy’s issue date.

Portability

Coverage can remain in effect for insured individuals even if their employment ends or the employer’s policy terminates. To continue coverage, the Insurance company must receive a written request and the first premium payment within 90 days of the certificate’s termination date. In some states, certificates cannot stay active once the master policy ends; in those cases, individual term life policies will be issued upon request.

The Accelerated Death Benefit

The Accelerated Death Benefit for Terminal Illness allows the insured to receive an advance on a portion of the death benefit if diagnosed by a physician with a terminal condition and a life expectancy of 12 months or less. The insured may access eligible proceeds up to $250,000, provided at least $10,000 of the policy’s face amount remains in force.
